It's So Sweet That George Kittle Thinks That Eagles Fans Hate Every Team Equally

I get the general idea he's trying to get at here. Yes, Eagles fans hate everybody. That's baseline. That's part of what being a fan is all about. It doesn't matter if you're a team like the Tennessee Titans, who I feel like the Eagles have never played before in the history of their organization, or the San Francisco 49ers. If you're coming to Philadelphia as an opposing team, then you're going to see a little asscrack on your way into the building. You're going to catch a few middle fingers from kids who have to go to school the next day to learn their multiplication tables in Mrs. Schmidt's 2nd grade class.
But to act like we hate everybody equally? That strips us of having any sort of nuance or rationale. We're not a bunch of neanderthals who just blindly hate for the sake of it. There is reason and context and layers of emotion plastered onto the level of hatred we show towards each team. George Kittle went into the interview trying to compliment Philly fans, but this could be the most disrespectful thing ever said about us.
We'd be morons to hate the Jacksonville Jaguars with an equal amount of vitriol we have towards the San Francisco 49ers. An entitled group of brats who came into Philly in 2022 acting as if the world owed them anything. Who spent that entire offseason bitching and crying and acting as if the Eagles beating the shit out of them in the 2022 NFC Championship Game was a fluke. The same 49ers who came to Philly a year later, and ended up sparking one of the most catastrophic collapses in Philly sports history. Credit where credit is due, the 49ers beat the wheels off the Eagles so hard in 2023 that it got Big Dom kicked off the sideline for the rest of the year, and turned a 10-1 team into a wildcard welcome mat.
There is too much history with this 49ers team to not hate them with every fiber of our beings. It's not enough for the Eagles to just end the 49ers season on Sunday afternoon. The offense has looked pedestrian for most of the season. The defense has been great, but has gone stretches where they just can't get out of their own way and off the field. Sunday needs to be a masterful massacre. A surgical slaughter. An all-out annihilation that leaves George Kittle questioning how worth it all of this actually is to him anymore.
Philly fans hate everybody equally. But we truly despise the ones who deserve it. And the 49ers deserve it the most.
