'Ain't Played Nobody' - Vanderbilt Beat Bama, Immediately Mocked Nate Oats And It's All Because Mark Byington Is A Superstar

This was Nate Oats a couple days ago. We know that Nate Oats will say whatever he wants, don't blame him and he wasn't even necessarily wrong. People kept doing the 'yeah, but' when it came to Vandy because they didn't have that signature wins. A bunch of good wins, sure, but no win they could point at and say this is why we're undefeated and top-6 in KenPom and a national title contender.

Then last night happened. A win, a game they led the entire second half and they handled it like they should. Trolling Nate Oats

It's better than saying overrated or chanting that. I will die on the hill that chanting overrated is the single dumbest thing fans do. It doesn't even make sense half the time and you're just saying that win doesn't matter as much. But this is about Mark Byington. He's the college basketball version of Curt Cignetti. Part of is the fact that they were at JMU at the same time, the other part is he's turned Vandy into this sort of program in two years. They are legit. I don't know how you can argue against it at this point. Every metric, every win, Tyler Tanner and Duke Miles, Vandy can win a national title.

Yeah, I need Byington in Lexington. He's next up in terms of being linked to blue bloods. I don't care what happens the rest of this year, he's one of the best coaches in the country. We're talking Vanderbilt here, similar to Indiana basketball. It's not like they had some great history. Not like they have a lot to remind them of the good old days with Kevin Stallings and Shan Foster.

We're getting some good old fashioned SEC hate the last couple days. Texas A&M mocking Auburn for the reversed made shot, this from Vandy. I don't care for it, but I have to respect it. I miss when the SEC was just Kentucky, Florida and bad teams.
