Mayor Mamdani's Aide Who Says 'Homeownership is a Weapon of White Supremacy' Bursts Into Tears When She's Asked About Her Mom's $1.4 Million Mansion
JIM WATSON. Getty Images.Speaking as someone who doesn't have to work in New York City, and only occasionally visits for tourism purposes, I rarely pay attention to what goes there politically. And even then, it had better be a politician doing something hilarious, like dictating what food you had to order at a bar in order to have a drink during Covid. Or having an open marriage. Or posting a Father's Day photo of him putting cheese on a frozen burger patty. The actual running of one of the biggest cities in the world doesn't matter in the slightest when you only go there for the occasional Broadway show or whatever.
Still, when the people of the city overwhelming elect a Socialist as mayor, it's impossible not to take interest. And that's not a smear; that's how Zohran Mamdani proudly describes himself. It's how he got elected. The platform he ran on. So my curiosity is piqued. It'll be fascinating to witness the political/economic/cultural experiment going on here.
Personally, I'm no Karl Marx fan. Nor I find a historic example where Old Crazy Whiskers theories were put into practice and life got better for pretty much anybody. I mean, most people you talk to who just graduated from a university (and any time I can't avoid such conversations, it's a failure on my part) will tell you the theories of Marxism are solid, they've just never been implemented properly. Then I explain the logic of my theory that says if you jump out of a high rise, you can glide safely to the ground. It's just that no one has been wearing the right shoes for it yet. And I welcome them to run all the experiments they wish to see if I'm right.
And you can't say that the Mayor's first week in office hasn't been interesting. As Dante pointed out, he's already declared he's going to do something about ticket prices for soccer matches that are not happening in the city he runs:
But his latest move has been a real doozy. Where most Socialists are happy to seize a few factories and farms, spout some drivel about the means of production belonging to the proletariat or some such drivel and call it a day, he put this crackpot in a position of power:
… “centuries,” and now it’s time to see it as “collective.”
Her words? Families (especially white ones, of course) need a “different relationship to property.”
In other words: stop thinking of your house as yours, and start thinking of it as something shared.
This isn’t a fringe activist on TikTok. This is a person in charge of housing policy for New York City.
up: this "shared equity" talk is a nice way of saying ownership might not mean what you think it does anymore.

To some extent, I think we can all agree with Cea Weaver that we need "a different relationship to property." Meaning, owning a decent it should be affordable to anyone with a decent job. That you can't sustain a functioning society where the average first-time home buyer is beyond their child-bearing years, so that most of a generation grows up as part of a permanent renting class. We need more homeownership. This lunatic is arguing for less.
We're 80 years removed from It's a Wonderful Life, where George Bailey's dad tells him "It's deep in the race for a man to want his own roof, and walls, and fireplace." To this nutjob - who looks like Conan O'Brien if he was pulled out of a river after five days - saying "Your home shouldn't really be yours." And that it's evil if you've saved up to buy a place to call your own and make a better life for you and your family.

So it should come as no surprise to find out that her rule applies to you and me, not her and her family. Or that for all her certainty when stating this unhinged, anti-American, authoritarian dumbfuckery, she's completely unequipped to handle a question about her own hypocrisy:
Source - A woke aide to New York City's new socialist mayor burst out crying when confronted over her assertion that it is racist for white people to own homes - despite her own mother owning a $1.4m Craftsman house.
Cea Weaver, who runs Mayor Zohran Mamdani's Office to Protect Tenants, was overcome with emotion when confronted outside her apartment in Brooklyn on Wednesday morning.
The 37-year-old began running down the street after seeing a Daily Mail reporter outside her home, then said 'No' through tears when asked if she wanted to comment on her professor mother Celia Appleton's ownership of the $1.4 million property in fast-gentrifying Nashville. …
Weaver previously tweeted that 'homeownership is a weapon of white supremacy' and that 'homeownership is racist' in social media posts that also urged people to 'impoverish the white middle class.'
In another Twitter missive from 2018, Weaver wrote: 'There is no such thing as "good gentrifier," only people who are actively working on projects to dismantle white supremacy and capitalism and people who aren't.'
Weaver further called on people to 'seize private property' and called for the election of communist lawmakers.
The privileged former Bryn Mawr College student's stunning hypocrisy was uncovered by the Daily Mail on Wednesday when we revealed her mother owned a gorgeous Craftsman home in Nashville worth $1.4 million.
The Tennessee city is America's fastest-gentrifying.
But Weaver gave no indication to her family wealth - and has now refused to say whether she will ask her mother to give up her private property.
Weaver lives in Crown Heights - a historically black neighborhood whose longtime residents have also been priced out by white newcomers.
Giphy Images.Crying? You don't get to cry, Cea! There's no crying in Communism! The Bolsheviks were no barrel of laughs, but at least they stood up for their beliefs. They grabbed their pitchforks and their torches and "seized private property" the old fashioned way. With bloods running in the streets. They didn't cry when they slaughtered the Tsar's family. They didn't cry when Rasputin survived a poisoning, and a couple of gunshots. They just wrapped him up and tossed him in the river. You can't go running around telling every homeowner he or she is a racist unless you're willing to back it up like your Fellow Travelers, there Comrade. And for sure they wouldn't have deleted the Communist Manifesto:

But crying and deleting aren't going to solve Weaver's problems. The only way to do that is to practice what she preaches. She'll have the moral authority to tell me and everyone else I know we deserve to lose our home and all the equity we've managed to put into them through decades of being house-poor, doing without luxuries, and living within our means, and soon as she and Mama Weaver vacate their premises, give their homes over to the collective good, and go live in a studio in the Bronx. Or a hollowed out tree in the forest. Or a refrigerator box on a street corner somewhere.
Simply put, if you're all about "impoverish[ing] the white middle class," how about starting with a couple of members of the white upper class. You and the rich mother who sent you to Bryn Mawr to get your head filled with fucking Commie gobbledygook.
