MY PITCH: The Ravens Should Hire Greg Roman As Their Next Head Coach
Yesterday's news of John Harbaugh's firing, after 18 years of fantastic service to the Ravens, shocked the world. While everyone is racing to figure out where Harbaugh would go, not a lot of thought has been put into who will fill his shoes in Baltimore. To that end, I have the perfect answer: Greg Roman.
I'll start this off by noting the elephant in the room (not a fat joke). Why would I, a Chargers fan, want Greg Roman to leave the Chargers? Sometimes, when you really love something, you have to let it go. He has done some incredible work but you can tell he is really constrained by the talent on this roster AND by this small market team.
So why should the Ravens want him back? For starters, he has gotten shit done in LA! Just look at these offensive numbers since he took over for the feckless regime that proceeded him.

Meanwhile, since the Glorious Greg left the Ravens (on his own terms, nobody paraded him out of the city(also not a fat joke)), how has Baltimore fared?
- 10 points scored in an embarrassing AFCC loss to the Chiefs
- Their kicker becomes a pervert (allegedly)
- Another embarrassing playoff loss to the Bills
- The Orioles get swept by the Rangers in the ALDS, lose WC the next year, total collapse this year
- The Francis Scott Key Bridge collapses
It seems to me that the city was way better off with B-more Greg in town. And now, to top it all off, John Harbaugh gets fired in disgrace after 18 years. It seems to me that Harbaugh getting fired AFTER Roman's departure is no coincidence. In fact, myself and some other NFL experts have come to the conclusion that Harbaugh may have been a "Greg Merchant".
So, instead of having middle man Harbaugh in charge, why not mainline Greg Roman instead? Offer whatever is needed to pry him away from the Chargers and watch Lamar and the city return to the greatness it is known for.
