'Everybody Can Quit On Us' - Wes Miller Gave One Of The More Pathetic Rants After UC Blew Another Game Because He's The Worst Offensive Coach In The Country
I know typically a UC/WVU basketball game won't lead the blog days. But, there was a million things going on in college hoops last night and somehow nothing was more pathetic than Wes Miller on radio with Dan Hoard:
That dude was crying. He may not have had tears in that second, but he spent the night crying. I mean, I don't know what this is even trying to accomplish. Everyone in this city who cheers for UC, has been praising the players. I've heard nothing but cheers at 5/3 Arena for the players. Wes on the other hand? This dude is cooked. I thought he was going to be a great head coach at this level. He's simply not. That offense that he runs is one of the worst things you'll watch. To be clear, so you know there's facts here, Cincinnati has the 219th ranked offense in the country. They haven't scored more than 65 points since December 5 against Xavier (a loss, as it always is at Cintas).
Here's the bigger thing. You can't do us against the world when you're the reason the team is 8-7.
It's not just this game. The back-to-back losses to Houston and WVU, UC had a lead, they had a chance to close and they become worse than my 6-year old's team running offense. It's honestly hilarious to watch because we're talking about a power conference Division I school with elite players and they simply can't do shit when the game is on the line.
I kinda wish Dan Hoard went back at Wes Miller. Hoard is a Cincinnati radio legend, been around the UC program forever. I know that man hated everything about this interview. Should have asked Wes why they suck so bad on offense, not let him rant about everyone in the world quitting on UC. It's because you're an awful coach, dude. Pray for Nick Lachey.
