Former Texas WR Parker Livingstone Commits to Oklahoma After Being Potentially Forced Into the Transfer Portal
Nothing is off-limits in todays world of college football, but even in a landscape where some players try to add different colleges to their résumé like infinity stones, you don't often see guys change sides of a rivalry as fierce as Texas-Oklahoma. It happens, but it's still far more rare than your run-of-the-mill transfers.
Well, Oklahoma will be sporting a new wideout in 2026 fresh from the opposite sideline in this year's Red River Shootout — and he seemingly wants revenge.
Parker Livingstone had a great redshirt freshman season in 2025. He caught 29 passes for 516 yards and six touchdowns from his roommate, Arch Manning. Every sign pointed to those two running it back on a team which would certainly have national title aspirations in 2026. But then Livingstone entered the portal.
Ok, seemingly more guys do that than not now, so that's not really a huge story. Except that in his announcement, Livingstone said, "Never in a million years did I think I would be going into the portal looking for a new home. Some things are out of my control. Such is the reality of the ever-changing landscape of college football."
It doesn't take a conspiracy theorist to read between the lines there. Livingstone was told encouraged to enter the transfer portal to make room for other targets the Longhorns have their eyes on. That's college football in 2026.
Now maybe Texas offered Livingstone a new NIL deal that was less than what he should actually be making or maybe they really did just push him out the door, but either way, he clearly felt like he was asked to leave and he wants to get a couple cracks at the Horns at his new school. In that case, it's hard to pick a much better destination than Norman.
Next October should be fun.
