A Report Claims Football's Power Couple, Belichick and Jordon Hudson, are Pursuing the NFL Job Openings

For the most part, New Year's predictions are hard. We live in an uncertain, chaotic tumultuous world where it seems like history is being made hourly. Yet the most predictable thing in the world had to be that a strong, powerful, independent woman like Jordon Hudson was not going to let many of those hours go by without putting her indelible mark on them. Which she wasted no time doing.

Source -  Jordon Hudson is playing defense when it comes to her relationship with Bill Belichick.

The former Bridgewater State University cheerleader rang in the new year by reposting a cryptic message from the couple’s 2025 celebration the year prior, taking aim at their critics.

"Nothing changed for us in 2024 except for 'public knowledge'; yet, somehow everything changed," the 2025 post read, which Jordon reshared to Instagram Stories Jan. 1. "Fourth calendar year; Going strong. I can't wait to take punches for you in 2025.”

The 24-year-old added, “Keep swinging, Keyboard Warriors. Your illusion of righteousness only fuels my authenticity."

In the photo, Jordan and the former New England Patriots coach, 73, can be seen clanking champagne glasses while out to dinner.

Yasss, Queen! Spoken like one of my fellow BSU Bears. As Governor Tarkin described Princess Leia, "Defiant to the last." Jordon is no more prepared to suffer fools gladly in 2026 than she was in years 2023-25. Nor should she be. She is the First Lady of Football, whether it be college or pro. And she's acting like it. The world be damned.

Which brings us to the "pro" part of that last paragraph. According to at least one report, she may be Lady MacBething her man back to the NFL. And let me preface this by pointing out the many qualifying modal auxiliary verbs being used here. It's all full of "would"s and "coulds" and "may"s. So take in that spirit:

The Spun - The first firing of Week 18 came on Sunday night. The Atlanta Falcons have fired head coach Raheem Morris and general manager Terry Fontenot on Sunday night. …

Bill Belichick and his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, had a rough first year at North Carolina. …

“When you agreed to pay a king’s ransom to hire Bill Belichick, did you also know that you were hiring Jordon Hudson to serve as the primary face of UNC athletics?” a longtime UNC professor wrote in response to the drama.

Belichick has said that he is committed to North Carolina. However, we know not to believe what coaches say in public. …

That doesn’t mean that Belichick is considering an NFL job, of course, but if he’s offered one…would he really refuse?

The Falcons fired Morris on Sunday evening. According to reports, Belichick and Hudson strongly pursued the Atlanta Falcons job prior to Morris’s hiring. However, the Falcons’ owner, Arthur Blank, and their front office, disagreed on who to hire.

The front office won out.

Atlanta’s owner could go back to Belichick, whom he reportedly has a strong admiration for.

If the Falcons are interested in Belichick this time, they could have to go through Hudson, as well.

One longtime UNC official said that Hudson is behind everything Belichick does.

“It’s just so odd,” the UNC official told the Washington Post. “And we just don’t know what’s coming. Those two decide what they’re going to do and they do it.”

“She is very, very involved in the crafting of Bill’s projected image, everything you see on Instagram, all of that. … [T]he football side of Bill and now the public side of Bill have become two different things, and she is in charge of the public side.”

Admittedly, that is a lot of qualifiers. Speaking of which, this all "could" have just been pulled straight out the prison wallet of some writer looking for clicks. But it wouldn't be so shocking if Arthur Blank realized the errors of his ways, and decided to go back to the man he should've hired in 2024. In all likelihood, expected to hire, but got talked out of it by the front office hacks who were only worried about protecting their own careers ending once Belichick came in, looked around, and realized none of them had ever won a blessed thing.

Here's what I wrote in January of 2024:

Bill Belichick is out of work and likely to stay that way. Meanwhile fan unfavorites Mike McCarthy and Nick Sirianni still have their jobs. And unknown factors like Raheem Morris, Dan Canales and Brian Callahan jumped the line ahead of him. …

To me there's only one rationale that even remotely begins to explain it. It's not a good explanation. In fact, it defies logic. But then, logic has never been a big part of how the Atlanta Falcons operate:

Yahoo - The reasons? Time and power. Belichick has a short supply of one and continues to seek an abundance of the other.

That’s the takeaway from Belichick’s pair of meetings with the Falcons. … [T]he source said meetings with Blank crystalized Belichick’s continued belief that the full scope of football operations, personnel and coaching should be under his decision-making umbrella.

But the Falcons, like virtually every other team in the NFL, have never entertained that type of CEO/coach power structure. Embracing it under Belichick would have raised the specter of either shuffling or redefining multiple jobs within the organization — if not rebooting some parts altogether.

tl;dr: Arthur Blank continues to be an imbecile who doesn't know how to run a football operation. Probably because he's listening to the very people who would lose all their power if Belichick was brought in.

So how'd that work out? Blank stuck with the same arrangement that has produced nothing but a single conference championship and the biggest choke job in Super Bowl history. And two years later, he's had to fire them all. Meanwhile the guy who crushed his interview - and his ladyfriend and closest advisor - are likely to be still interested. Let's see if this time around he's smart enough to listen to his heart and not his employees.

Because after all, the Falcons job is not the only one to open up:

The coach who drafted Tom Brady, taught him everything he knows and made him a legend is available. Just maybe not for long. This "could" get very interesting, very soon.
