The 2x NFL Coach Of The Year, Kevin Stefanski, Has Been Fired By The Cleveland Browns

Alright I gotta keep this one quick because we start Mostly Hoops (going 2x a week starting today through the end of the NCAA Tournament) here in about 20 minutes. But the news we all were waiting for came out first thing this morning: Kevin Stefanski has been fired. Kinda funny that we've been waiting for this to happen for a few weeks, but the Browns waited until he won two straight AFC North games to end the year before actually doing it.....

Gut reaction? We've been bad, really bad, the past 2 years. But in the last 30 years, have we had a more stable coach than what Kevin Stefanski gave us? He made the playoffs twice. He won Coach of the Year twice. He even went (well, the team did...he had covid) TO Pittsburgh and won the franchise's first playoff game since 1994. And I guess my gut tells me that of all the problems this franchise has, of which there are many, Kevin Stefanski might be one of the few who is actually good at his job. And that's going to be pretty evident when other jobs open up and he has the pick of the litter. I'm shocked that our GM Andrew Berry is going to stick around, but we've decided Stefanski is the issue.

Then again, he had 6 years....and these last 2 have been flat our miserable. Because at the end of the day, when you drop back to back double digit loss seasons, especially when you're an offensive guy and had one of...if not the best...defenses in the entire league this year, you kinda gotta go.

So now it's just going to stink when a good job opens up, Stefanski gets hired in two seconds, and he goes on to win a Super Bowl. And then the entire world can laugh in Cleveland's face, again.
