Bears Play Their Best Game Of The Year And Now Have A Path To The Playoffs Next Week Against Green Bay
LETSSSSSS GOOOOO
Another victory Monday for the FIRST PLACE Chicago Bears
EVERYTHING went right for the Bears yesterday. The haters will say it's the Cleveland Browns and another win against a shitty team. They are right, but most of the Bears wins against shitty teams this year had to held on to by their finger nails. Not yesterday. The Bears DOMINATED for 60 minutes yesterday. First win by 28 or more points since 2020. First game with 5 sacks since 2023. First time holding a team to 3 points since 2021. Judkins was held to 1.8 yards per carry. AND the defense continued to take the ball away. Oh...and that might've been Caleb's best and most complete game and he did it in sub zero temps with Rome Odunze bundled up on the sidelines after re-injuring his foot warm ups. Pretty fucking good day and exactly how you'd want to draw a game up against the Cleveland Browns.
All of that happened in Chicago. The other great things happened in the 3pm slot. The Broncos and Rams both did the Bears favors beating the Packers and Lions and putting the Bears right back in 1st place in the NFC North with just three games to go. The Bears have three potential playoff teams left on the schedule. Green Bay at home, at SF and the Lions at home to finish the season. Win two games and you're in. Beat Green Bay and then get a little help and you're in too.
Here is the clearest path for the Bears...beat the Packers next week and then if the Ravens also beat the Packers in week 17 then it's over. That scenario moves the Bears to a 99.9% chance of being in the playoffs. That would make this the biggest Bears-Packers game since the NFC Championship. Win and the Bears are in the playoffs and the conversation just shifts from making the playoffs to winning the division, a home playoff game, and all of that. Just an incredible run by Ben Johnson's Chicago Bears. Nobody wanted to talk playoffs before the season. Nobody even wanted to talk about it before Thanksgiving. Now it's all on the table for the Bears. A year ahead of schedule. Just keep playing. Keep winning. Desperate for the playoffs. So close we can taste it.
