Micah Parsons Tore His ACL In Denver As The Packers' Season Seemingly Went Up In Flames Before Our Very Eyes
Justin Edmonds. Getty Images. The in-laws were in town this weekend, and as part of our Christmas gift we took them to a comedy show Sunday night. The start of the show delayed just in time for me to watch Jordan Love's 4th and 15 pass sail incomplete to end the game. I put my phone away and stared forward for the ensuing few hours in disbelief at the carnage that just took place in Denver for the Green Bay Packers.

You know that scene in Step Brothers when Brennan and Dale are on the couch as their parents break the news to them that they're selling the house and they have to live on their own? Brennan recaps the whole situation saying, "We're not going on the boat, Derek's selling the house, we have to go to therapy? WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED???" That's me right now after taking in that Packers game.
It's one thing to lose to the Broncos after holding a 9 point second half lead WITH THE BALL. It's another to watch Christian Watson, a guy who has emerged as that true number one wide receiver the franchise has been looking for since Davante Adams, get injured again. But holy fuck Micah Parsons tore his ACL???
Last week after beating the Bears I was ecstatic. How could you not be? When the first half concluded in Denver on Sunday I was legitimately thinking Super Bowl. I even had the silly idea to suggest in my head that Jordan Love had a decent chance to win MVP with Drake Maye losing to the Bills and at the time Stafford looking human against the Lions. And that's why positive thoughts are worthless to the brain. When it's too good to be true, it usually is, especially with sports. Everything changed when Love left this deep ball short. They went for the kill shot and instead the gun misfired and exploded in their face.
Fast forward a few hours later and the season is actually over. Sure they can get in the playoffs, but that's it. You can't lose the guys they have and still win it all. Parsons, Kraft, Watson, Tom again, Walker. Is Jordan Love's Packers offense about to score 50 points a game now? That's the only way I see this working out.
This was an incredibly fun team and that's now all gone. Parsons obviously is now done for this year but who knows how long into next. Will he ever be the same? I'd still make the trade every single time, but when this is how it unravels it hurts bad.
P.S. I talk a ton of shit about Bo Nix and he shoved that right down my throat today. He was actually incredible. Played a perfect game and took advantage of Hafley's defensive gameplan all day long. I didn't think Denver had a real shot at winning the Super Bowl before today, but if Bo Nix is this guy then they can beat anyone. My head hurts.
