'We Got Mahomes, We Always Have A Chance' - Chris Jones Knows The Only Hope The Chiefs Have Is Mahomes Bailing Them Out Of A Shit Season

Forget the fact that the Chiefs look awful, are 6-7 and basically need a miracle to make the playoffs, this is the sort of optimism that can't be faked. I'm not a Mahomes hater or even a Chiefs hater. I have no problem when they won a Super Bowl, especially against a team like the Eagles. But, this is just desperate. You might have one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the sport, but, uh, what else is out there? 

No one is making plays. Your offense looks like shit, your defense should be elite. That's beating the Chargers, Titans, Raiders and Broncos? Okay, maybe the Titans and Raiders. Anyone can beat those teams. I think it's fair to say the Chiefs are the biggest disappointment so far this season. The Ravens, Bengals, Bucs all right there, but the Chiefs have gotten to the point that we're just used to seeing them in title games.

A real difference between the two. All I know is, yeah, Mahomes is there, but at what point is that not enough? Because we're there right now. They don't win the close games anymore after winning every single one a year ago. They aren't terrifying like they have been in years past. It's the closing of a window and even I'm a little scared writing that because it's still the Chiefs. I'd say get back to having cool plays and more importantly having people who can actually make a play. Then we'll talk playoffs.
