John Cena Had His First Ever Drink With The Undertaker At 26-Years-Old And Taker Got Him Wasted While Teaching Him Two Life Lessons

John Cena did Bill Simmons podcast this week, and they covered a bunch of topics surrounding Cena's farewell tour, of course, but also reminisced on memories from his career - including this one: John Cena shared his first ever drink with The Undertaker when he was 26 years old.

Cena says Taker called him over to sit next to him at the bar, and he put a drink in front of him like an old vet. Cena went to say "I don't drink" or something, and Taker just put the drink right back in front of him. That Deadman peer pressure was all it took for Cena, and he told Bill Simmons he's so grateful that he indulged with Taker because of the advice passed down to him that night. Firstly, he was told to always take care of his crew and never let the boys pay - amazing advice for a top guy. Then, he told Cena to "Never say goodbye."

They talked about this like Taker literally meant just Irish Exit everywhere, and I don't know if I'm crazy, but that doesn't seem like the life-changing advice it was treated as there. I didn't fully understand that part, I don't know if something was lost in translation there or what. Sounds like a conversation straight out of a biopic, though.

It's a shame their WrestleMania match was strangely cut to two minutes and forty five seconds on the day of the show by Vince McMahon. Taker talks about how excited he was for that in 'The Last Ride' documentary, and how much it devastated him for them to be told it'd have to be over in a flash.

Cena also mentioned wanting his final run to be 220 dates, but said WWE only wanted him for 36 dates, which I found extremely weird. I mean, I know it's for the best in the end and he probably couldn't do all of that - but it pisses me off that he didn't have a more extensive house show schedule. It would've been an awesome way of having him face a much wider variety of talent, especially if he were willing to do it! Oh well, tho. Too little too late.

Cena also did Joe Rogan today, and that just went live - so I'm expecting plenty more quotes to come from that.
