Quentin Tarantino HATES Paul Dano As An Actor And Calls Him A "Weak, Weak, Uninteresting Guy"
Quentin Tarantino recently revealed his Top 20 movies of the 21st century - which is included at the end of this blog - but his take on Paul Dano in 'There Will Be Blood' is what everyone is focused on. Not only does Tarantino say he didn't like his performance, he thinks Dano is "weak sauce" and "the weakest fucking actor in the [Screen Actors Guild]"; Tarantino claims he was the sole factor holding 'There Will Be Blood' back from being the greatest movie of the 21st century.
I don't know if Dano fucked Tarantino's girl or something, but this is obviously an outrageous take. Everything's subjective of course, but even aside from 'There Will Be Blood', Dano has more than proven himself in roles from 'Little Miss Sunshine' to 'Prisoners' to 'Love & Mercy' to 'The Fabelmans' to 'The Batman' and beyond. I think most directors would probably call him one of the best actors of his generation; he's worked with Steven Spielberg, Paul Thomas Anderson, Denis Villeneuve, Matt Reeves, Bong Joon Ho, Ridley Scott, Steve McQueen, Guillermo del Toro, Ang Lee, Kelly Reichardt - Scorsese and Tarantino are probably the only big ones he's yet to collab with!
Here's the thing tho: Tarantino has extremely weird movie takes. He says the incredibly mid 'Superman Returns' is the only good superhero movie ever made....
Here's his full Top 20 list....
