The CFB Message Boards Have Gone Fully Off The Rails, Proposing That Miami And Vanderbilt Schedule A Play-In Game In Hawaii This Weekend To Attempt To Get Into The CFP

Listen, the scenarios you're going to see come out after this weekend as we attempt to figure out who gets the remaining spots in the CFP are going to be something to see. And I'm confident in saying that this easily takes the cake for the most ludicrous one that somehow falls into the rules of the sport. They say hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, but have they ever discussed the fury of an on-the-bubble CFP team who wants to try and prove their case?

And I don't know if this rule actually can be implemented, but wouldn't you want a perennially fringe CFP team like Miami scheduling a Hawaii game before the season so they can add a +1 to the win column? It's clear they have no real guidelines on who the committee selects other than a few basic metrics that feel like they change every single year, so would an 11-2 Hurricane team who had a vacation that was disguised as an extra game in Hawaii look better than a 10 win team? Those are the important questions we need answered.

The real problem is the undervaluing of non-conference early season games, which a team like Alabama has already done away with because they don't want the risk:

My best guess is that we'll be seeing that a lot more in the coming years until something gets worked out. In the meantime, if Miami or Vandy are stuck on the outside looking in, at least in Vandy's case we've got Heisman electric quarterback and Glenny Ball best friend of the program:

Good luck out there Vandy and Miami fans.
