The NBA Is Placing Terry Rozier & Chauncey Billups On Unpaid Administrative Leave, Will Not Receive Salary While A Part Of Federal Investigation

I understand that athletes aren't always good with their money. I have no idea what Terry Rozier and Chauncey Billups got into that led them to getting caught up in whatever the hell they're caught up in. Apparently the mafia is all tied up in this thing. We know they were with the poker game. I'm not sure if we know what extent they were involved with Terry Rozier, if at all. But even if it wasn't the mafia, if anybody at all was "forcing" or intimidating Terry Rozier into shaving points, you have to question their business savvy.

Terry Rozier was set to make $26.6 million dollars this year. Just have a little patience guys. The man is a god damn WHALE. He's about as big of a mark as you can get. I'm no... loan shark(?)... but I'm pretty sure the LAST thing you want to do when you have a mark as big as Terry Rozier is ANYTHING to put his main income stream in jeopardy. You need to keep that man collecting NBA paychecks for as long as humanly possible. Take what you can get when he gets paid. I mean, how much money can you really stand to make off Terry Rozier prop bets? It just can't be anywhere close to as much as he's being paid.

Same with Chauncey Billups. I know he was merely pulling in $7M per year as a head coach. And I'm sure these poker games were pretty big money makers. But if you've got something on a guy making that much money, it just seems crazy to do anything to put their careers in danger. It's a marathon, not a sprint. You gotta protect your whales. If anything, they should have had to gun to Terry Rozier's head forcing him to put up jumpers all day. The man is in a contract year for christ sakes. They should have been locking Chauncey Billups in a basement with a projector forcing him to watch tape on the Blazers upcoming opponents. That's how you're gonna get the most money out of these guys.

Or maybe Terry Rozier was really just taking matters into his own hands. It also came out that he was facing an $8M IRS tax lien in 2023 - the same season he's being investigated for.

Maybe he was just trying to dig himself out of whatever hole he was in, and didn't have the time (or thought he didn't have the time) to wait two weeks in between direct deposits.

I also found this funny for some reason... in case Terry Rozier wasn't having a bad enough week/month/year/life... the NY Post also ran this article the other day about how much of a deadbeat dad he was.

NY Post – The paternity suit, first reported by the Daily Mail, was filed by Monika Jawdynska in 2019 and contended that the Miami Heat guard — who is in his final fourth year of a $96 million-plus contract with the Charlotte Hornets — should cough up child support for their daughter born that year.

“A millionaire athlete or movie star should not be treated differently than anyone else,” Jawdynska’s filing from Miami-Dade County argued.

“If anything, it only supports his reckless behavior,” she wrote, trying to hold Rozier’s feet to the fire.

“The Father was not present at her birth nor had any desire to be present, he has not seen or visited his daughter (even when he travels to Miami),” her filing stated.

“The Mother attempts to get the Father involved in the baby’s life but he doesn’t even ask for her pictures. The mother sends them unsolicited.”

"Just in case you forgot guys, Terry Rozier is also a shit father." - Kinda seems like you're rubbing it in a little bit there NY Post. You're kinda high-stepping across the goal line up 40 on Terry Rozier at this point.

Poor guy. Kinda crazy I can say and mean that literally about a man who's career earnings exceed $100M. But now he's got everyone scouring the internet for Terry Rozier's lowlights. His career is probably over. He's going to have to sit in a courtroom and try to convince a jury that he's actually just dog shit at basketball. Talk about a series of L's, am I right folks?
