The Legend Grows: These Stories Of Cam Skattebo Purposely Running Into Telephone Poles And Wet-Willying Jaxson Dart Is Only Making Giants Fall More In Love With Him

There are a few times where I think, you know, Cam Skattebo has hit his peak. He's won over every Giants fan, even with that terrible fumble that changed the entire game last week. But, he's out there looking to inflict pain, actually is entertaining and has given us something positive to watch after years of misery. Then I see this tweet and collection of stories and it makes me realize how much more we need to enjoy Cam Skattebo.

The dude is the ultimate football guy:

Oh hell yeah. This is old school football guy mentality. You put on some pads, you find something hard and you run directly into it. That's how you become this bulldozer as a rookie who isn't afraid of contact. Give me the throwback running back who sees a guy in the field, lowers his shoulder and expects to win. None of this pussy football running out of bounds anymore or trying to hurdle. Just run over a guy in front of you, that's what Cam Skattebo does.

Need to love him more? He won over QB1 right away

I fell asleep on the plane and I wake up to this dude wet-willying me and trying to put food on my face while I'm sleeping. That is kind of an accurate representation. It's 100% [who he is].

Good, let Jaxson Dart know he can't just walk onto a private plane and be in charge. It's a locker room mentality. It's something the Giants need back after the disaster stories that have come out the last decade or so. You won't find Cam Skattebo on a boat in Timbs, no sir. Again, he's our lunatic:

"Zero filter. First time at a special teams meeting he asks, what's our job? Our job is to play with speed, get off the ball. And this animal just goes 'Physicality!'

Hell yeah. I want my rookie running back to basically be the real life version of Danny from The Replacements. I'd put him out there on defense if you need to force a turnover. The man is out here yelling physicality for no reason. It's why we need to enjoy this. I don't think Cam Skattebo is going to be here for a long time. The dude plays balls to the wall and we know running backs don't have the longest shelf life.

I'll keep saying it. He's given us something to get excited about. We haven't had that feeling since, I don't know, Odell's rookie year maybe? Victor Cruz doing the salsa? It's a different feeling for us this year. We know we're not winning shit, but there's hope. You can't take that away from us and you sure as shit can't take Cam Skattebo away from us. He's a fan favorite and we need him to be here as long as possible.
