Hell Is Real: The Bengals Splurged On TWO Cars To Pick Up Joe Flacco In Cleveland So He Could Study The Playbook On The Drive To Cincinnati

I'm not going to do what everyone else - especially Bengals fans - is doing. I'm not going to make fun of the Bengals for being cheap, again. Instead, I'm going to talk about how this is a glorious ride so Flacco gets to see all of Ohio on that drive down 71. Most importantly he gets to see the sign everyone in this area knows and talks about:

The sign is so famous that the FC Cincinnati/Columbus Crew (prestigious sports rivalry) is named Hell is Real. But, there is something hilarious about Joe Flacco's family loaded up a couple (no free ads) cars and hiking down to Southwest Ohio. I fully understand it's probably quicker to do it this way and it's really not a big deal, but the Bengals sending two cars is perfectly on brand.

I do love the idea that he was able to study the playbook and be on the phone with the coaches while in the car. Impossible to do that on a private jet. Everyone knows the best place to read is in the car, unless you're fairly normal and get car sick while reading in motion. It happens as you get older, just trust me on that one.

It also can't be a great thing to feel like he picked up the playbook from Cleveland to Cincinnati. It's the perfect amount of drive, sure, but 3.5 hours seems a little basic.

This is one of those things a team doesn't have to announce. Just say that Flacco is on his way to practice. You don't have to say you sent two cars for him and his family. Just lie, it's simple. Either way, Joe Flacco got to see the Hell is Real sign and for anyone who has spent time in Ohio, that's an important thing to check off.
