The Stupidest Decision - Executives Are Getting 'Closer' To Agreeing On A 76-Team NCAA Tournament, Starting In 2027 With A 12-Team Opening Round

Goddamnit. I swear we can't go one day without having normalcy in the dumbest times of college sports. We live in a world where Cal, SMU and Boston College are in the same conference. We live in a time where we want to celebrate losers. That's what this expansion is all about. Celebrating losers. You're not getting a second Ivy League team in or something like this. This is set up to get the 5-13 Big 10 team in the NCAA Tournament. No one wants to watch shitty basketball try to mean something, trust me, I watch a lot of shitty basketball.

I'm so sick of hearing from coaches and commissioners crying about missing the Tournament and how we need expansion. No we don't. If you miss the Tournament, your team sucks and you did a bad job coaching. That's what it comes down to. Again, you have 32 auto qualifiers with 36 getting invited right now to the Tournament. If you're not good enough to be in there, see ya. Go play in the NIT or whatever other fake tournament we have out there now.

We have the perfect setup with the current NCAA Tournament. I'm pretty sure it's the one thing that every person in the world agrees on. And now we're going to ruin it because of greed, stupidity and the refusal to accept what you have. Nobody hates college sports like the people who work in college sports. We've lost the plot on this all. Every sport is expanding playoffs and postseason and it just feels like we're celebrating losers.

Again, I say this all the time and it's worth repeating. For those saying 'it's more basketball,' no it isn't. We already have an opening round, it's called conference tournaments, which fucking rule. We also have 30 games in the regular season to get to the point where the conference tournament doesn't necessarily matter for you. Now we're adding teams and making the conference tournament pointless. Hate everything about it.
