Carlos Ulberg Knocks Out Dominick Reyes In The Main Event Of UFC Perth

Carlos Ulberg put an end to the comeback run of Dominick Reyes and likely just earned himself a shot at the winner of Alex Pereira vs Magomed Ankalaev for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship with a huge first round knockout in Perth tonight. This extends his win streak to nine and proves he can handle the bright lights, as this was his first ever main event - and he made it look easy.

I really like Ulberg (how can you not?) but this Dom Reyes resurgence has been so much fun to watch that I was definitely pulling for him and thought it was a real bummer to see him knocked out like that again. What a crazy career he's had as well; he goes 12-0 and earns himself a title shot against Jon Jones, he loses a close decision to the GOAT that many thought he won, he then gets viciously knocked out three times in a row and retirement talks start looming, and he strings together three awesome knockouts of his own coming off that. I don't know what the future holds for Reyes, but he's had one hell of a journey through adversity already and I respect the hell outta that.

Carlos Ulberg expressed wanting to attend Alex Pereira vs Magomed Ankalaev next weekend after the fight, and I just gotta share this argument those guys had this week (via Google Translate).....

What an awkward and hilarious way to beef - waiting for the translation of shit talk. Hysterical.

It'll be very interesting to see how everything shakes out after that fight, but for now: congrats to Carlos Ulberg on the stellar performance tonight, and get well soon Reyes!
