The Dream Start - Keegan Bradley Is Sending Justin Thomas/Bryson Out In The First Group, Gave Bryson Approval To Try And Drive The Green On 1

Oh hell yeah. That first matchup is exactly how the Ryder Cup should start. Hatton/Rahm kicked our ass in Italy, because everyone kicked our ass in Italy. But now we have JT/Bryson. Those are the two guys who fire the crowd up, they live for the matchups, they actually fit well at Bethpage together too. But then came the question, do we see Bryson try to drive the green on 1?

Uhh, no duh! In fact I begged for this, much like many others.

It's the dream start. You answer their horses with Bryson putting one right in front of the green? 3-1 on that first session is all I can think about. I don't really get the Morikawa/English pairing, outside of sitting all 4 rookies right off the bat and Griffin having a ahem unique ball situation, that's the weak pairing on paper. It also seemed like he for sure thought Europe was sending out Rory/Fleetwood last and thought he'd get his Xander/Cantlay against them. Either way, we have the dream at 7am.

Bryson taking the tee, firing people up, taking a breath and hitting that motherfucker to the green. Chaos erupts, the crowd is immediately into it, we get the start we deserve.

If we're being honest, even 2-2 and it feels fine. We tend to be better at fourballs anyways and we've gotten off to good starts on day 1, outside of Italy in 2023. The Scottie/Henley pairing isn't shocking considering how well they played together at Presidents Cup, but it's that first matchup that has all the juice. I want fireworks early. It's how you get the crowd involved and the whole team invested at a high level right off the bat.

Just drive the green, make the putt. Keegan is smart, you gotta let Bryson do what he does best.
