'It Was My Decision' - Brian Daboll Makes It Very Clear He's The One Who Wanted To Break The Emergency Glass And Start Jaxson Dart For The Rest Of The Season
Well, that settles that! Of course it's a job-saving maneuver. Anyone with a brain knows it's a job-saving maneuver because if Jaxson Dart looks the part, competes and you put together wins, Daboll can try and save his job. You're not doing that with Russ Wilson. You're getting guys injured, fans to boo you and the worst display of passing in the red zone with Russ Wilson. Jaxson Dart at least gives you hope.
There was a whole debate within the Giants world after the move yesterday about who triggered it. Some were saying Mara wanted the move to please fans. Some said it was Schoen, some said Daboll, some said players, some said all of the above. Pretty sure Daboll knew he had to make this move, it was just a matter of when. I understand you don't prefer to throw him against the Chargers defense, but what's it matter? I don't believe you can kill Jaxson Dart's confidence with one bad game because even he knows this team sucks.
More importantly Dart knows he has the season as QB1. You can't do the yo-yo thing and take him out after 1 or 2 bad games. Again, this team is garbage, no Giant fan with a brain is expecting playoffs this year. We just want hope for the future. We want hope with the young guys to look like they can compete next year. I don't know why we have to pretend this isn't anything besides Russ Wilson being a bad quarterback, a coach/GM trying to save their jobs and a rookie quarterback who fans want to see. It's a no-brainer to make the switch, the only problem was them talking about Dart basically redshirting this year. Now, just keep him healthy and don't completely suck.
