Rams +3.5 was a brutal beat but it wasn't the only one on Sunday
I think we get sick days and personal days as Barstool Sports employees. Does this mean Dave is officially offering us Bad Beat Days?
I'll have to re-read my employee handbook.
Yeah, Rams +3.5 was an all-time kick in the balls. The Rams were well on their way to not only making the +3.5 look easy, but the +155 money line bets looked pretty great, too. With about 12 minutes left in the third quarter, the Rams led 26-7, and the Eagles had a less than 10% chance of winning per NextGen odds.
The Eagles scored on back-to-back drives to cut the lead to 26-21. The Rams have a short FG to extend the lead.
I think they call this foreshadowing.
Even when the Eagles scored the go-ahead touchdown, you still had to feel pretty good if you were holding a Rams +3.5 ticket. The game wasn't going to OT at that point - just don't throw a Pick 6 or allow a scoop and score and you're good.
Then here, with the Rams lining up for the game-winning field goal…like, what are the chances they have a second FG blocked???
I mean, cut the shit. Jordan Davis FG block, scoop and score. Here's how it sounded on Eagles Radio WIP.
Brutal for Rams plus the points. Like, go for a 20-minute walk and contemplate life brutal.
I'm not here to argue - Rams +3.5 was the worst beat of the day and maybe the NFL season. But there were two other rough beats Sunday in the NFL streets.

Look at that beautiful halftime score from Bears/Cowboys. Total 48.5-49.5 or so, depending on whether you bet it before the game or grabbed it live. A nice juicy 38 points at the half with 30 minutes to play and two bad defenses.
At 31-14 Bears into the 4th, all we needed was one touchdown to get us home. The Cowboys marched down the field and had first and goal from the Bears' 5 and then third and goal from the 1.
Even after this soul-sucking INT from Dak, the over still had life. Dallas put in rocket-armed Joe Milton to get us home. Even after a penalty wiped away a play that would have made it first and goal for Dallas from the three-yard line, Milton still had a chance to be a hero…to me and all the other over bettors.
Pain. How did that game not go over??? As one of my MutStack Friday Four-Back bets, this hurt.
Milton's old team, the Patriots, gets an honorable mention, too. As 1.5-point home dogs and a +110 on the ML, they proceeded to turn the ball over five times - FOUR fumbles and an INT - in a 21-14 loss to the Steelers. Even with that pile of turnovers, the Pats had a chance late.
WHY DID POP DOUGLAS GO BACKWARDS???? Fall forward and get the first down.
Rams plus was bad; it wasn't the only rough beat of the day in the NFL on Sunday.
All three of these should qualify for Dave Portnoy Bad Beat Days, if you're employer allows such things.
