The thing that makes high school football so great is that it's the purest form of the game. It's just a bunch of kids going out there and playing the game they love with all of their friends. They play because they love football, they play because they love being with their guys, and they play because they want to make their town proud.
The NFL is awesome, but the main motivator in the NFL is millions and millions of dollars. College football is spectacular, but the main motivator at the highest level of college football is to make it to the NFL.
40U football is like if you just took high school football, and added in a few more receding hairlines and alimony checks. It's a bunch of grown ass men playing because they love the game, and maybe also want to keep the delusion up that they could have gone pro if they just didn't get that knee injury in junior year of high school.
Everyone is just a little slower out there than they used to be, which are premium conditions for laying someone the fuck out. These guys don't have to worry about getting fined. They can go out every single down with the intention of ripping someone's head clean off their shoulders. And honestly, I think I'd prefer being on the receiving end of a dirty head shot than whatever freaky shit this fella has in store for his opponents.
Last thing you want to see chasing you down the field is someone's horny ass uncle foaming at the mouth looking to make the last big play of his career. That's one where you might just want to hit a quick turn out of bounds. You still have to be able to wake up for work in the morning.
