The Best NFL Conspiracy Theory On The Internet - Matthew Stafford Died A Couple Weeks Ago, Got Cloned, New One Is Now QB1 For The Rams
Quick background before we start talking like Dante and packing a to-go bag. Matthew Stafford was hurt, weird, I know, to say an old quarterback has an injury. Stafford was dealing with a back injury that the Rams gave vague updates about. Again, welcome to sports where old guys get hurt and you get vague updates leading into a season. Then Stafford had this at practice:
This only led to more of the conspiracy theory and why #StaffordDiedWeeksAgo has been trending and all over the place. It's one of the dumbest conspiracy theories but something I want to believe in. Let me correct that because that sounds like I want Stafford dead, that's false. I want something so dumb, so out there to have a .01% chance just so we can run with it. It's like Avril Lavigne having a body double after 2003. Is it true? No, but we all know it.

And the obvious best subset of the conspiracy theory is having Clayton Kershaw fill in for Stafford
Did you know they grew up together and are best friends? Bet that's breaking news. It's been a while since we had a good sports conspiracy theory that's also old school Internet. This is that. Brings me back to some good days where you wondered if Katy Perry is Jon Benet Ramsey. The NFL is one that doesn't have a ton of conspiracy theories, we have Jimmy Hoffa being buried under Giants Stadium. We have the Super Bowl color conspiracy theory. I'm not talking about 'the refs purposely threw that flag' type conspiracy theory, I'm talking like NBA Frozen Envelope type deal. That's where the NFL is lacking and we have it now with Stafford dying/getting cloned.
The back injury and the Ammortal chamber help it all, but Stafford really is the perfect guy for this conspiracy theory. He's out in LA, he's older, he's got some new chiclets and he's taken a beating over his career. I feel like he stays out of the limelight way more than other quarterbacks like him so he can perfectly fit in the conspiracy theory scope of it all. But, for now, all eyes are on Stafford 2, QB1.
