Plan The Parade: Paul George Steps Away From His Podcast To Keep The Sixers' Championship Dreams Alive

First of all, this was a bizarre way for me to find out that Paul George has a podcast called "Podcast P".

But after losing 8 games in a row, being 17 games below .500, out of the playoff picture, and with the Philadelphia 76ers season effectively over....Paul George has finally decided to stop podcasting so he can just focus on being a basketball player again. He's decided that now is the time to solely focus on the thing he's getting paid $50 million per year to do. Joel Embiid is about to get 2 new knees, tickets are literally selling for $2, and now is the time that Paul George has decided enough is enough, and it's time to focus on basketball.

Not a couple weeks ago when he scored 2 (TWO!!!) points in 37 minutes against the Nets in a 100-96 loss. Not when he missed the first couple weeks of the season fresh off of signing a $211 million contract. But now that the season is over and it's in the Sixers' best interest to tank the rest of the year, Paul George is ready to hang up the podcasting mic so he can help lead the 20-37 Philadelphia 76ers back to contending for a championship.

Holy fucking shit, man. Give me a break. Here's what actually happened--

The Sixers were able to get by being complete dog shit for the first 5 months of the season because the Eagles were taking all the attention away from that horrific organization. Nobody gave a shit the Sixers were awful because the Eagles were on the road to winning the Lombardi Trophy. But now that the Eagles season is over, the Sixers don't have that shield anymore. People are starting to tune back in. And they despise what they are seeing, and the Sixers are catching an unprecedented amount of anger and hatred from the fanbase.

So it's not that Paul George cares that maybe podcasting was becoming a distraction from doing his actual job, or that he cares about actually helping the Sixers get back into the playoff picture. It's just that the heat is on them now and he realizes he can no longer just get away with everybody not paying attention. Sucks for the Podcast P Family. I know they're all devastated about this news. Breaks my heart that the Podcast P Family won't have any new episodes to fire up after this week. But Paul George has a job to do, dammit, and he won't stop until he delivers. Mamba Mentality.
