Real Dudes Aren't Afraid To Cry. Brandon Graham Gets Emotional On Radio Talking About His Season Ending Injury

Brandon Graham has given everything he has to the Eagles and to the city of Philadelphia over the last 15 years. Brandon Graham has given everything he has to the game of football for his entire life. From a kid growing up in Detroit, to a young man playing for the University of Michigan, to the pros. He's won a Super Bowl. He's played the most career games as a Philadelphia Eagle in franchise history. Countless big moments including the most important strip sack in franchise history. He's done all of these incredible things in the game of football in his 36 years of life.

And now there's a chance that one chip block is going to end that chapter of his life after tearing his tricep and being sidelined for the year. Obviously there's no ruling out the possibility that this sick bastard comes back for year 16. But I think the emotion we saw out of Brandon Graham on 94.1 WIP this morning is a man who is coming to terms with the fact that his days of playing football are over.

Sports end for everybody who has ever played them. For most people, the last time you play a meaningful game is probably in high school. Some folks go off to play in college and they get to prolong that final game for 4 more years. If you're truly great, you get a chance to play professionally for a little while. But either way, everybody always experiences that overwhelmingly heavy feeling of your playing days being over. I'm sure it doesn't make a difference if you played for 18 years or 36 years--in that moment it feels like it just passed you by in the blink of an eye. You try to figure out where all that time went, and the things you'd do to get it back.

But when you get to the level of where Brandon Graham got to, you are quickly able to shift the sadness over to pride and gratitude. Knowing what he's done for the city of Philadelphia over his 15-year career. Knowing what he was doing so far this year during this incredible stretch for the Birds winning 7 straight games. The man just has a ton of emotions running through him, and he let it out on radio. So for anyone who thinks you're just supposed to bottle up those emotions, try telling that to Brandon Graham. Even with a torn tricep he'd still whoop your candy ass.
