Coldplay's Chris Martin Falls Though Trap Door, Which Begs The Question: Do We Need Trap Doors?

NY Post- Coldplay frontman Chris Martin suffered a nasty fall through a trapdoor during the band’s Australia concert Sunday.

The “Paradise” hitmaker, 47, took a tumble while speaking to the 50,000-strong crowd at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium during their international “Music of the Spheres” world tour.

“That’s, uh, not planned, thank you for catching me,” Martin told the staffer into his mic. “Thank you, guys, holy s–t.”

Luckily, the father of two avoided any injuries from the fall.

Scary scene. Let it first be known I absolutely love Chris Martin and everything he's about. Saw him live on NYE in like 2012 ish with Jay Z at the Barclays Center and he put on an unbelievable show. He also really sold me at the concert for NY when he gave just a little anecdote about a man in his building (8:15 mark)

It pains me to watch this and he's lucky he's not seriously hurt, but the whole thing here is do we really need trap doors? I know they serve a purpose and help with transitions etc but doesn't more harm just come than good? Can't people just enter from the wings like normal? When you go to a concert do you notice if one has a trap door and one doesn't? Why not just do away with these altogether? Feels like we just flat out don't need them.
