Tyrese Haliburton Signs Massive Deal With Puma And Shows Off The New Shoes He'll Be Wearing This Season

SI - This past weekend, news broke that Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton had signed a "massive" sneaker deal with PUMA. Now the global sportswear brand has officially announced the signing of the two-time NBA All-Star. The brand has not yet mentioned anything about a signature sneaker line for Haliburton. But that could potentially come in the future. Currently, Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball and Portland Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson have signature lines with PUMA.

It's Tyrese Haliburton's world, and we're just living in it. After signing a massive $250 million contract extension with the Pacers last season, Haliburton has inked a deal to make him the face of Puma basketball. It's ever hooper's dream to get signed by a shoe company and have their own signature shoe. Haliburton doesn't have his own line of shoe, and no young hooper has dreamed of seeing their own line of Puma basketball shoes, that's all about to change as Tyrese blazes his own way like Curry with Under Armor, or Kawhi Leonard with New Balance. Haliburton sets the trends, he doesn't follow them. Hali is willing to take a small market team to the top, just like he's willing to make a name for Puma. Good for him. Just a kid from the midwest staring in his own commercial with his dad, and laughing at the haters and the doubters all the way to the bank. Seriously, these shoes are expensive as hell. $250!?!?!

Sure, it's supply and demand, and people were willing to pay $600 for ugly ass Yeezys, but what are we doing? I'm not a sneaker head, so any take I have on shoes is outdated like boomers mad kids are dancing on Tik Tok and painting their nails. I don't understand what's going on anymore, but at least I'm self aware that I'm an old man yelling at a cloud. When James Harden came out with his weird moon shoe / Crocks hybrid and I absolutely hated them, that was when I knew I was too old to care about shoes.

I don't hate the blue and yellow Puma shoes, but the those purple Nitro Elites are ass, and look like they are inspired by the alien vehicles in Halo (a reference to a 20 year old video game - I'm officially washed)

I'm interested to see what Haliburton's personal line of shoes will look like, because these are meh. My biggest concern is Haliburton switching up what he's been used to wearing and getting in a slump or god forbid hurt. Haliburton got hurt last season when he decided to wear a different pair of Nikes than his usual Kobe low tops, and I was ready to go on a crusade to destroy every pair of Kobe high tops in existence. Would I do the same for Puma shoes? You bet your ass I would. It's the duty of a true fan to act completely irrational and insane for the good of the franchise. It's why I can say WE when referring to the team.

The future is bright for Haliburton and the Pacers, and it all starts tonight with the Pacers preseason tip off. Playoff baseball? It's basketball season, baby!
