The Craziest Stat In The NFL: The Chicago Bears Have The Longest Current Home Win Streak At Seven Games
By all means, don’t hesitate to shit on the Chicago Bears. I am making no representations otherwise.
I just think it's interesting (when you look into the data) that the Bears have the longest current home win streak in the NFL at 7 games.
Granted Mark Potash has an excellent point:
If you want to just completely forget that anyone can beat anyone on any given Sunday. I suppose forgetting that critical fact can subsequently devalue the Bears winning streak.
I'm not going to do that. Instead I would rather just say that I would have picked approximately 20 other NFL teams before guessing the Bears to have the longest active home win streak. Possibly even 25.
That's an incredibly positive statistic for the locker room and fanbase. Maybe not a big deal at 4 games but we're talking an even 7 here and that's legitimately incredible. Maybe Caleb Williams is the guy?
I have no fucking clue. Honestly. I'm no better than a coin flip on NFL quarterback play, which I blame on both Jim Miller and Shane Matthews equally. End of the day, most of this is just guess work when I say that Caleb Williams will win anywhere between 3-5 Super Bowls. Most of it.
Even so, we'd like to see the offensive line improve in all future respects: short-term, offseason, ideally for Caleb Williams's entire career, etcetera. The more we protect that man, the more likely we are to circle back on a 10+ game home win streak.
Speaking of which. Don Shula's Dolphins own the record with 27 consecutive home wins which is like an entire college education worth of home football games. Absolutely incredible stuff from Coach Shula. Crazy thing is that my math says we're only 20 short of tying the record, which could happen.
In theory.
And reality. So don't act surprised if we start knocking on that door in about 3 years.
Anyways heres a deeper look at the All 22 if you're into the hardcore stuff. I have no clue who this guy is but 14 minutes worth of film study is 14 minutes worth of film study.
