Bullying Works: MLB Is Going Back To Players Wearing Their Own Jerseys For The All Star Game, As Well As Fixing The Nike-Fanatics Uniform Crisis

The great baseball uniform crisis of the 21st century is finally over. America won. Common sense prevailed. We bullied these morons into reversing course and fixing it all.

MLB players will be donning their own jerseys for the All Star Game. The most no brainer decision ever.

The first change will have players return to wearing their primary home and road uniforms at the All-Star Game starting next season. MLB has decided that players will once again represent their “hometown” teams for the game itself, as was the case from the 1930s through 2019.

This is the way.

We've also got major developments on the current jersey front. The Nike-Fanatics jerseys are getting a total makeover. Let's quickly go back in time to remember how bad this shit was.

The lettering was terrible. Like some shitty travel team jersey you had when you were 12.

The material looked cheap

By making them light weight, they also made them unable to absorb sweat. Some of the visuals we got were comically bad.

And of course the pants were see through…

While my fiancé loved it, it made the sport look like a joke. Manfred's wet dream if you will. He told everyone that they'd learn to love them and grow into them. He was wrong. Now the old materials are back, you can customize your pant size, and the sizing of lettering will go back to normal.

Additionally, changes are in the works for overall home and road team uniforms beginning next season and will include pant customization, increasing the sizing of the lettering and returning to previously used materials that the players requested. The decision to move forward with these modifications was finalized over the last few days, following collaboration between MLB, Nike, Fanatics and the Major League Baseball Players Association. The changes will begin in 2025 and will be fully implemented by the start of the 2026 season.

Had to happen. MLB says the new grey road jerseys will be good to go by Spring Training, while the home jerseys will take a little more time. I'm not sure how that's possible since it's only September 30th, but I guess we'll take it.

While this is great news all around, if you bought one of the new jerseys that's gotta be tough to swallow.
