I've been very critical of AI and people using it to "create" music that was never intended to hit people's eardrums. But not in this case.
Tiktok'er @mrprofessor318 here somehow got the idea to run Trent Reznor's very graphic "Closer" through the AI machine with the instructions I can only assume were to make it sound like Michael McDonald, and this was the result.
Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would work. Nevermind sound so good.
(sidebar - I'm willing to bet my life that the phrase "let me desecrate you" has never been uttered on a soft rock song ever.)
Now I'm thinking Mr Professor 318 needs to run all of Downward Spiral through AI and do this.
p.s. - seeing this video of Reznor playing in an 80s synthpop band named "Slam Bamboo" will make you laugh every time
p.p.s. - I know summer is over, but these are a must for boat season
