What The Hell Just Happened - USA Gets Swept, Loses In Historic Fashion, Gets Completely Embarrassed At Day 2 Of The Presidents Cup

We're a day removed from Team USA sweeping the four balls event, taking a 5-0 lead and looking like another business as usual type Presidents Cup. We own this event, no other way to describe it. Instead? Well, this happened:

A sweep. 5-0 International Team.

It all started with what's supposed to be our best foursome team. Xander and Cantlay. They play together the most in this sort of setting, they win a lot. Off the gate is supposed to be easy, right?

Yep, easy for the International Team. Just like it apparently was all day. Whether they were draining putts, throwing darts, just not making mistakes, they owned basically every single match for every single hole:

It didn't even matter what match we were talking about to be honest. There were mistakes all over the place. Homa/Harman couldn't take advantage when they were 2 down on 17 and the International Team put the ball in the water. Homa missed the green, Harman flew one off the green. I get the International Team played their ass off. They looked the part, but we also did nothing to challenge them. Scottie/Henley were the one that at least kept it close for the entire match. Homa/Harman felt like they were 2 down forever and never could get it tied. The sweep ended fittingly with another putt that was just nails by Si Woo.

You can sit here and say Furyk never should have sat Keegan Bradley or paired Homa/Harman together (they were fine in the Ryder Cup). The fact is THIS team should never be losing like this to the International Team. We had our 'best' foursome team. We had Scottie out there as the anchor. Obviously weird shit can happen in match play, but we weren't even in this thing outside of the Scottie/Henley match vs An/Si Woo Kim. That's embarrassing. I don't care how you try to spin it, it's embarrassing.

It's the first time we lost a foursome in the Presidents Cup since 2005.

We blew a 5-0 lead heading into the weekend. We gave the International Team momentum and belief they can compete. We missed basically every putt. We missed any chance we had to get a point or a minimum a half. There's no excuse to be getting swept when you have a 5-0 lead.

Now we head into the weekend. Tomorrow is 4 four-ball and 4 foursome matchups and Sunday being 12 singles. Got ourselves a Presidents Cup, time to figure it the hell out because today was an ass kicking.
