In Just His Third NFL Start Jayden Daniels Won NFC Player Of The Week
Two days later it's still pretty crazy just how good Jayden was on MNF. He went on the road and made his first primetime start and had one of the greatest single-game performances in NFL history. That's not hyperbole or exaggeration or putting the horse before the carriage, it was simply, by every metric, THAT good. Completely 91% of his throws, not punting, that incredible TD pass to Terry, using his legs when needed, and beating the Bengals in Cincy...I know it's just regular season and I know it's just week 3 but fuck, if you're one of those people who try to downplay the achievements because of the week of the season, I hate you. It's ok to be excited! It's fun to celebrate such an unreal performance! I hate curmudgeons who think this sort of thing doesn't matter, because of course it matters! Not since 2012 have we as a fanbase had much to cheer for. Our biggest success story is Dan Snyder being forced to sell the team. And then we still had Ron Rivera to deal with (lol). So yeah, I'm going to throw a parade and raise a metaphorical banner for Jayden and the Commies for that week 3 win. It was awesome, it feels awesome, and I hope this feeling never goes away.
I will say this though- the defense is still pretty bad. The offense isn't going to be able to drop 38 every week and bail out the defense. It's unfortunate but the secondary is swiss cheese and opposing teams are going to take advantage of that week after week. It doesn't matter how prepared our corners are, you can't just magically turn bad players into good players. So while the defense will be a struggle, at least we have Jayden and $100 million to spend next offseason. Things are looking up for the first time in a long time.
