Jayden Daniels First NFL Win Being The Product of 7 Austin Seibert FGs Will Be A Fun Story They Tell At Jayden's HoF Induction Ceremony

You may not know this, but the Commanders came into this season without a kicker. It was an odd choice, but entering week 1 without a kicker who could kick a FG, an XP, or keep the ball in bounds on the kickoff was a strange decision to say the least.

This issue was rectified, however, when they signed Austin Seibert last week. And what a signing that was! Yesterday Stone Cold Seibert Austin went a miraculous, unheard of 7/7 on FGs, scoring all the Commies points in Jayden Daniels' first NFL win. Going from no kicker to a kicker putting up 21 points was probably the last thing we saw coming, considering how terrible every kicker has been for Washington recently, and also considering watching someone kick on the FedEx Field grass is the equivalent to watching me try to pick up a girl at a bar- wildly uncomfortable and a high % of failure. (Wait, what's the stadium called now? As I'm typing this blog I cannot remember and honestly I'm not going to look it up because they should be batter at getting me to remember who bought the naming rights.)

And now let's talk Jayden....HE IS AWESOME.

Through 2 games he is doing EXACTLY what we need out of him- figuring out the NFL game without making too many mistakes. He's getting the ball out quick, he's running it when he must, and he's throwing at a very high completion %. Now, haters will say he doesn't throw downfield and this and that and to that I say WHO CARESSSSSSS. The coaching staff is slowly opening up the playbook for him as he learns and adjusts to the NFL game.

I actually fucking love the simplicity of what he's done so far and how they've allowed him to get comfortable in the short passing game while occasionally taking longer shots down the field. We saw him and Ertz connect a couple times which was great, and bless Scary Terry- he isn't getting the numbers he probably wants but the goal is in due time Jayden will start targeting him more down the field and truly open up the offense.

Through 2 game JD has 410 yards and 0 INTs. A rookie QB having 0 INTs through 2 games is pretty unheard of, and it just speaks to his accuracy and how prepared he is.

With 1 win in the books and his confidence building, I'm excited to see how he performs under the bright MNF lights in Cincy next week. Hoping he puts on a show for the national audience, but also hoping he doesn't force anything and just sicks to the plan. If only the first primetime game was later in the year, but alas, a great challenge for him.

It wasn't always pretty, but a win over the Giants (who are ASSSSSSSSS) will always feel good. The Commies have a lot of weaknesses, especially in the secondary, but a win is a win and it's the best thing ever (even if the Gmen lost their kicker on the opening kickoff). HTTC.
