Could UConn Going To The Big 12 Be Good For Big East Basketball?

So if you're a reader of Barstool SPORTS, I'm sure you're aware of the ongoing game of cat and mouse that is being played between UConn and the Big 12. As of yesterday morning, they were in confirmed discussions. As of yesterday afternoon when the Big 12 commissioner released a statement, they have paused those discussions. Either way, it does appears inevitable that at some point, UConn will have to leave the Big East. They are the only school in the conference that has a football team in the FBS, and while both the Big 12 and the Big East are better at basketball these days, football still drives the revenue which drives the NIL which drives everything.

Anyways, my stance was that UConn leaving the Big 12 would be good for their pocket books and meh for their basketball. Don't get me wrong, Kansas and Arizona and UConn playing 2x a year would be awesome, but there's something to be said about the northeast all playing together. But Mark had a different stance on the issue, and he actually made some really good points:

Bascially he's saying that it's an uneven playing field in the Big East because UConn is getting football money that no one else is. So while the product may go down initially and the draw will for sure, it would be nice to have all the Catholic schools and FCS football schools and non football schools, where basketball is the ONLY thing on everyone's mind all battling it out. And it would be great for UConn too because they'd get the Big 12 money and can continue to boost both programs.
