Connor Stalions Made His High School Defensive Coordinator Debut Last Night And His Team Lost 47-6

So I blogged this story the other day that Connor Stalions landed on his feet after getting fired from Michigan by earning himself a Defensive Coordinator job at Mumford High School in Detroit. Forget the fact that the rest of the coaches that he fell on the grenade for are now making millions of dollars in the NFL off the back of his hard work, at least he got a demotion out of it! Went from making $50K a year on a Power 5 staff to being a volunteer coach at a school that went 1-8 last season...

But here's the thing: if anyone can turn around a reeling program that is on the verge of relegation, it's Connor Stalions. He's done it once for a team that was in much worse shape, and there's no doubt in my mind that he can do it again.

But like I said in my original blog, the biggest problem here is that he doesn't have enough personally recorded game footage of the other team's sidelines yet. How can you expect to compete in Week 1 when your Mom wasn't at 30+ of the other team's games yet with her flip phone pointed directly at the coach? And my hunch turned out to be correct seeing as Mumford lost their season opener last night by a score of 47-6....

Shucks. I really want the best for this guy, too! His lawyer came out the other day and said that he's been through enough, and I agree. I genuinely feel bad for the guy, seeing as he had to do all the dirty work, fall on the sword, and not hear from anyone on the coaching staff ever again. Even the one Michigan Man he considered to be a friend as of late turned on him and ratted him out....
