Drake Guarantees Victory in Game 2
Despite already having a 1-0 lead over Kendrick Lamar and company, the greatest artist of my generation, Drake, is still hungry for more. Anyone with a brain knows that lyrically, Drake bodied Kendrick. Kendrick can have that overplayed, watered-down song—it was the biggest hit of his life for a reason, and that reason is Drake.
Since Game One ended, Drake has gone sicko mode, again. First, there was the 100 GIGS release, where he dropped "It's Up," "Housekeeping Knows," and my personal favorite, "Blue Green Red." The songs were solid, but the best part of the 100 GIGS drop was all the behind-the-scenes footage that came with it. It’s like a time machine, taking us back to the creation of some of the biggest songs of this generation. Drake has made it very clear that he "records everything," and if you recall, one of Drake’s wins in the war with Kendrick was planting "fake" information about an 11-year-old daughter to see if Kendrick would take the bait. Kendrick did end up taking the bait in his song "Meet The Grahams," but some are skeptical as to whether Drake actually planted the information in Kendrick’s camp.
This is why I feel like all this behind-the-scenes footage is either a massive buildup to the reveal of him planting the information in Kendrick’s camp, or it’s a cover-up. If Drake were to just drop a single clip of him planting the bomb in Kendrick’s camp, I don’t know how much weight it would hold. But if the viewers "find it" in a 100GB hard drive and post it all over the internet, it’s game over.
If I’m being real with you and putting my personal biases aside, I really don’t care about who "won" the beef. What I care about is what’s come out since the beef. And in terms of music, Drake is on another level—he’s dropped another three songs on his FINSTA. I do find it hilarious that the biggest artist in the game is dropping songs on a finsta, but hey, as long as the songs hit, I’m cool with it.
