Feel Good Friday: Mike Trout Pulling His Own Autographed Rookie Card From A Pack With His Son Is The Best Thing You Will Watch Today

Holy shit, Mike Trout really just did a better job marketing Mike Trout in 60 seconds than Major League Baseball has done for his entire 14 year career. I guess better late than never, even though Trout's body has betrayed him once again to the point everyone wonders if we will ever see him on a baseball field for more than 100 games in a season. Better late than never, I guess! Another bang up job by Money Manfred and his stooges.

Alright, that's enough negativity in a Feel Good Friday™ that should be about how awesome that moment is. My son just started getting into baseball cards after my parents found an old pack they had bought me for Christmas back in the early 2000s. Despite being a lukewarm baseball fan, he went crazy every time we saw a new card. I took him to the local card store to get a pack (since maniac card collectors that are grown ass adults have made it impossible to get them at Target or Walmart) and he continued to geek out whenever we got an insert, a Met, a rookie card, or someone I said was good.

Which is why I couldn't imagine the dopamine his brain would unleash if he got an autographed rookie card of Mike Trout, let alone an autographed rookie card of Mike Trout, who just so happens to be his dad. I'm a fat blogger instead of the closest thing to Mickey Mantle since he was roaming center in the Bronx, so that reaction will forever be a mystery. But still an all-time great reaction video that should put a smile onto everyone's face before we dive into one of the last few summer weekends. It must be so awesome being Mike Trout (other than the debilitating injuries, playing for a black hole franchise, and whatever inherent mental craziness that comes with being an Eagles fan).

P.S. If I were the GM of a Major League franchise, I would draft Mike Trout's son as early as MLB's weird ass amateur rules would allow since that kid has the look of a future superstar along with the pedrigree. Obviously I would have to get him before the Blue Jays since their primary draft strategy appears to be selecting kids of former big leaguers. But as long as I could snag little Trout before them, I would pencil him into center and the All-Star Game for the next decade.
