Runner Loses Out On Bronze Medal At The Last Second When She Celebrates Early

There have been stupid finishes over the years and people celebrating too early but that has to be the stupidest. Like, by far.  She’s celebrating a bronze medal early.  Who does that? Not only did she celebrate early, she gave the Both Hands In The Air I’m The Best Ever celebration. I know it’s the World Championships and every medal is special but at the end of the day it’s still a bronze medal. Not one but two people were better than you. That’s not a cause for celebration.  It’s one thing if a racer celebrates the gold too early and loses it.  That might sting a bit more but at least the person was celebrating for the right reason.  First place?  Celebrate.  Pup bottles. Spray the champagne everywhere. Maybe give a fist pump as you cross the finish line.  If you get passed at the last second?  Tough shit but at least you still probably get a medal.  Celebrating a bronze medal early and getting passed not only makes you the biggest loser in the world but you end up with no medal at all.
