We Almost Lost Scott Hanson For The NFL Season After He Got Injured Cheering Too Hard For Team USA While Hosting "Gold Zone"

NFL training camp is always a little worrisome to navigate. You're filled with so much hope and anticipation for the upcoming season, but you know at any point someone could suffer an injury which would ruin your season before it even begins. It's why I never understood people who have their fantasy football drafts during the first week of August. Anything can happen in preseason to rip your dreams away.
We almost had that happen to us when we came dangerously close to losing Scott Hanson for the season. He's currently gearing up for the NFL RedZone season by hosting "Gold Zone" for the Olympics. He's getting those preseason reps in just like all your favorite players to make sure he's as locked in as possible for week 1 action. But after getting a little too fired up and pounding his desk about Team USA winning a medal, he almost lost his hand.
Dude almost pounded his hand clean off his wrist. I mean look at that thing. Looks like he spent 4th of July at Jason Pierre-Paul's house. I'm surprised they didn't have to amputate. Now he probably has blood all over his notes. Could you imagine having to do that job with no notes? Fortunately he doesn't allow himself to take bathroom breaks during the broadcast, or else he'd also have to worry about getting some blood on his hang down.
Fact of the matter here is that if Scott Hanson pounded on that desk just a little harder, who knows what this NFL season would have looked like for all of us. Would we be forced to watch Andrew Siciliano? Would NFL Network try to bring in someone like Steve Kornacki? Fortunately these are all questions that we don't have to worry about finding answers for right now. However, there is still a ton of action left to be called at the Olympics. So it's worth having a contingency plan in place just in case Scott Hanson gets a little too carried away again.
