Sherrone Moore Says He Thinks About Ohio State "24/7, 365" And Would Love To Play Them 2 Or 3 Times Per Year
Obsessed much? It's the middle of July and if Michigan cannot even keep our name out of their mouths, think about the damage we're doing inside their brains.
Listen I know all these Walmart Wolverines like to point out that they've won 3 times in a row and don't get me wrong I can't downplay that. But the history books are going to look a little different when the NCAA drops the hammer down and vacates at least two of them + the National Championship. Enjoy your time in the sun right now because the fact of the matter you needed some. There's not a single person alive today that has seen Michigan have a winning record against Ohio State. Hang your hat on the championship mantle while you can but just realize it's all falling down once this finally gets sorted out.
Anyways, just rehashed Sherrone Moore's media day appearance and here's a couple notables:
- When asked about a final ruling from the NCAA for Michigan's rampant cheating scandal that not only affected the scores on the field but people's livelihoods, he said “I’m not at liberty to comment about that. I’m not worried about that.”
And when will these criminals be at liberty to comment on that? Stations is out here refusing to talk to the NCAA but making Netflix documentaries? I'm honestly preparing for one of two things: either the NCAA does what's right and vacates everything (like they would and have for literally anyone and everyone else), or they come out and ban Conor Stalions for life and pretend he acted on his own accord. I predict they let the Navy Seal fall on the sword and say no one in the entire facility knew how the random staffer got all the plays and signals of the other team.
- When asked what the major changes between him and Harbaugh will be, he said, "There will be music at practice."
I'll say this: this makes me respect Jim Harbaugh. If the vial had 0.0% respect in it, now it has 0.01% respect. The fact that he was able to take a team full of 18-23 year olds and win a Championship* without catering towards this look at me, need music, need attention, can't focus, can't work hard generation is impressive. And it showed on the field with their toughness. Happy to hear that they'll be losing that this year.
- Direct statement: “There’s no honeymoon year.”
Talk about being born on 3rd base. The only two important members of the staff are now gone: Harbaugh and Stalions. And this guy is talking like he's the National Champion? I wish back-tracking Portnoy had this type of confidence in his team this season so I could get double the salary next year.
- On Colston Loveland: “You ever heard of Travis Kelce?”
Ever heard of the best Tight End to ever play the sport and a 1st ballot Hall of Famer? Michigan is going from all toughness to all hype with this guy at the helm. It's a shame too because Harbaugh brought something to the table that Ryan Day wasn't, but now it's all going down the drain.
- Shot at the former coach: "The preparation and attention to detail is greater than it was a year ago."
Interesting move to accept the keys to your brand new Ferarri from your dad and then turn around and act like you earned it yourself. There's no other way to interpret this. Sherrone Moore thinks he's doing a better job than Jim Harbaugh did, while riding the momentum and coaching the roster that Harbaugh built for him.
- On the possibility of playing Ohio State two or three times: “Love it. Yes. Let’s do it.”
Again, I can't say anything about Michigan because they've beaten us 3x* in a row but this dude talks a real big game for being a nobody. Playing 2 or 3x a year means Michigan is in the Big 10 title and/or National Championship. Buddy unless you hire another Navy Seal you're at best the 3rd or 4th best team in the conference for the next decade. I can't wait until November 30th (or the outcome of the NCAA ruling) because when these tides finally turn, they're going back to what they've been for the last 100 years.
Bottom line, if I was Sherrone Moore I would've talked less about Ohio State in my media day and more about my own team. I have no problem with the hatred but the obsession in the middle of July is a little much.
