Power Ranking The Best Cameos From Deadpool & Wolverine

I was going to put together a list on the blog but my boy KFC did exactly that with essentially my list and did it in much more entertaining form than I ever could have using boring old words in the year 2024. Here is the 90 second version for everyone else whose attention span has been shattered by modern technology.

Deadpool & Wolverine ruled for a million reasons, but the feeling that you were in some Marvel version of a Royal Rumble is right at the top. The biggest pop in my theater was either for Blade or Gambit, with The Cavillrine walking away with the bronze medal. As someone that loved all the Nawlins nonsense that Gambit spews, I appreciated them have Channing Tatum's character go full Coach O with his lines about getting shot out of his daddy's balls seems even more backwoods Cajun than the gambling lines cartoon Gambit would throw at us like kinetic-charged cards.

The Blade cameo hits even harder when you learn about the reported issues Wesley Snipes had with Ryan Reynolds when filming Blade: Trinity.

Prior to the release of Blade: Trinity in 2004, there was a lot of conjecture in the press that the film was meant to spawn a new movie franchise that would star Ryan Reynolds and Jessica Biel. In the years since, however, all the discussion about Blade: Trinity relates to reports of Wesley Snipes’ childish behavior on set.

Unfortunately for Blade: Trinity director David S. Goyer, Snipes seemed to detest him for some reason. As a result, Snipes refused to talk to Goyer according to his co-star Patton Oswalt. Instead, Snipes would only communicate with Goyer through post-it notes that the actor always signed “From Blade”.

Even though Wesley Snipes reportedly unloaded most of his ire on director David S, Goyer during the filming process, the actor’s co-stars were not immune to his behavior. For example, Snipes reportedly referred to Ryan Reynolds as “that cracker.”

On top of that, Patton Oswalt made it seem like Snipes avoided working with Reynolds whenever he could. "A lot of the lines that Ryan Reynolds has were just a result of Wesley not being there. We would all just think of things for him to say and then cut to Wesley's face not doing anything because that's all we could get from him."

I believe the old saying goes "It's much easier to deal with a cracker when you get a shitload of bread", which I'm sure Wesley could use after those old tax issues.

I'm also not sure if it's technically a cameo since he was played by Hugh Jackman, but the nerd in me geeked the FUCK OUT when I saw the X-Men crucifixion cover remade on the big screen, which led to me instantly going home and buying $150 worth of comic books, with this beauty being the purchase that started the avalanche.

In addition to all the "Oh Fuck" cameos we saw, it's the ones we didn't technically see but found about in the credits that I loved. Namely Rob McElhenney as a TVA agent, Matthew McConaughey as Cowboy Deadpool, Ryan Reynolds' kids Inez and Olin as Kidpool and Babypool, and of course Ryan Reynolds' wife Blake Lively as Lady Deadpool.

You know Ryan Reynolds must be awesome when he is as universally beloved as he is even though he should be universally despised for having the goddamn perfect life.

I'm still not sure who played The Hulk in his iconic fight with Wolverine and feel like the Thor cameo could end up being a Secret Wars tease more than a red herring. But I'll make sure to do more research this weekend when I see this movie again to relive it while also hearing the reactions to all the craziness going down on the screen.
