The Browns Security Team Is Running Tackling Drills To Prepare For Potential Fans On The Field This Season

What a hilarious visual. These young and hungry security trainees have been studying hard all summer, learning the finer points of the various strategies on how to bring down a fan on the field. But at some point, you need to put down the textbook and actually go out and perform the proper formations and techniques. One of my favorite coaching sayings was that if you want to be able to battle in the Pacific, you need to train in the Pacific. The worst time to find out that you can't swim is when you get tossed into the ocean, so the Browns held the boys feet to the fire and said: Go catch him.

I fucking love everything about the Browns doing this (and getting caught on snapchat) except for one thing: why can't the actual Browns fans be the ones running away from the security team? It looks like this is a happy-go-lucky exercise where one team member tries to evade the rest. How about we butter up some Browns fans with a little liquid courage in the Muni Lot and televise this spectacle? We've already got our first sign-up:

I love that idea.  And maybe we could even make it even more lucrative with a little fundraiser. Fans can pay $50 to run onto the field for this drill and get $1 for every second you evade security. Make it over 50 seconds and you're in the green. Anything under that and it goes back to the team so we can offset this new Amari Cooper contract. And you might think to yourself, how much money can the Browns make by charging single dollars at a time? Answer: a fucking lot. Best fan base in sports. Do this on the Sunday of Week 1 vs. the Cowboys (4:25 start, 7 am tailgate) and you'll get 50,000 running onto the field.

Either way, I love the security taking this seriously and sharpening their tool kit, but why can't we just let the players handle fans on the field? It's more entertaining that way.
