Former NFL QB Kurt Benkert Is Using His Ball Knowledge to Embarrass People on College Football 25
I, like much of America, have been playing College Football 25 from 5 to 11 p.m. every day for the past week. I love this game in a way most people only love their spouses and children. The only problem is that this game is unrecognizable from what it was 11 years ago and I hand out interceptions like candy on Halloween. Apparently the fix for that is just to have played quarterback in the NFL and be able to know what the answer is for every defensive look you can possibly get.
I thought I was pretty good at identifying audibles after scoring a few touchdowns with hot routes when my fastest receiver is getting press man coverage and then I started watching Kurt Benkert's videos and realized I don't have a clue what I'm doing. But even if I knew what the hell sliding the pass protection does or when to do it, I still don't think I would. This is supposed to be a video game; I shouldn't need to have an NFL understanding of coverages and protections to be able to complete a pass.
On the day the game came out, Benkert posted that he was ranked in the Top 50 online players.
I'm glad there are people out there who are good at this game online. I bet it feels great. I don't know if I'll ever reach that point, but I'll die trying before ever becoming one of those boomers that only plays against the computer.
