First Pitch Perfect: The Journey To The Majors (Step 7 Retry: The Double Bounce)
So I paused from the Volunteer Work I was doing at the local orphanage this morning to take a look at my phone and see if FedEx had notified me that the care package I sent to the homeless shelter had arrived yet, and I noticed that I had not one but two Twitter notifications from someone I consider a good friend, Liam Blutman.
The story goes that we went to the Chicago Dogs game on Wednesday night (the night directly after hitting 763 home runs with the boys until our bodies fell apart) for the next step in my Ceremonial First Pitch journey. Let me get out ahead of this now: it was a disaster. I had blisters. My body ached. No warmup pitches in the bullpen. And I have the Yips. So no, I was in no rush to post this video. Did I get the video sent to me yesterday afternoon by Lucussy? Yes. Was I waiting for Saturday afternoon when the rest of the world is preoccupied with something else so they wouldn't see it? Maybe. But relax, Liam. I was always going to post the video.
Here you go:
Ball Don't Lie. There's no other way to put it. I tried to cheat the Baseball Gods and the Baseball Gods responded with the most embarrassing performance of my life. Not only did I bounce the first pitch in, I called CUT and tried to get off a 2nd first pitch, only to bounce it in again. I apologize to my family, Liam, Lucussy, and the Chicago Dogs. I have failed everyone.

And now I'm looking for another opportunity in the Independent League ASAP. I have Independent, Single A, AA, and AAA all to get done in the next month to be able to make it up to the Big Leagues. Time is running out and I can't throw a Strike to save my life, even if given a 2nd chance.
