Deion Sanders Says He's Mad At The Colorado Athletic Director For Scheduling North Dakota State Instead Of A Layup In Week 1

Coach Prime you are the reigning Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year. You are the head man of the 16th best team, led by the #1 Quarterback, in the new EA Sports College Football video game. And that Quarterback (also your son) has said that he is well aware that you are "everyone's Super Bowl" heading into the season because of the 4-8 record great year you all just had. Your team is the very 1st to let everyone know how good they are, so joking or not, how could you possibly call an FCS team anything but a layup? 

And don't get me wrong, I'm well aware that North Dakota State is a powerhouse in their own right. Since 2011, they've won 9 of the last 13 championships....

Haven't won one since 2021 though! Is the sky falling in Fargo? But that's another blog for another day. The point of this blog is that Deion and Shedeur cannot build their entire brand on arrogance and unearned confidence, only to turn around and say they need an easier opener than an FCS school. I'm not saying Colorado and Ohio State even play the same sport, but that's the school I know best….and Ryan Day, through all his flaws, would NEVER even joke about something like this. We expect to win every single game. And again, I know Ohio State is Tier 1 and Colorado is 4-8, but don't Coach Prime and Shedeur act like they're Tier 1? People are roasting Colorado for the Super Bowl comments yesterday at Media Days, but I think this one is much worse. Who do you want to play Week 1, Deion? Florida International? Louisiana Monroe? Or are you still looking for an FCS school, just not one as good as North Dakota State?

** The DraftKings Sportsbook (#dkpartner) agrees with Deion though. Could be a tough first week for Colorado.

I will give Shedeur this thought: this will be North Dakota State's championship game…..until they play in the actual FCS Championship game.
