"It's All Right There In Front Of Us" - Aaron Boone Repeating His Own Empty Platitudes As The Yankees Collapse Continues, This Time After Once Again Being Out-Classed By The Red Sox

To the delight of literally every other sports fan in America, the Yankees' yearly scheduled nose dive is very much still happening. They are a flat-out miserable watch right now. The team did not in fact wake up this weekend when the Red Sox paid them a visit. Ben Rice's incredible 3 homer game on Saturday did not spark a thing. Instead they extended their win-less series streak to SEVEN. You have to go back to the 4 game set against the Royals in mid-June to find the last time the Yankees won a series over another team.

On June 14th the Yankees became the first team in baseball to reach 50 wins. They currently have 55. There's no way to sugarcoat it, they have been the worst team in baseball over their last 22 games. They can't pitch or hit. Whenever they decide to do one of those, the other area blows up in their face.

Now a baseball manager can only do so much to elevate a team's performance, but if there was some way to statistically evaluate Boone's impact on the Yankees it would without a shred of doubt place him at the bottom of the entire league.

I understand there's only so much you can say while your team is in a rut, but repeating your own lifeless, failed platitudes makes me want to walk into traffic and end it all. It's one thing to watch this team every night, but having to hear this moron spin-zone it all is a cruel and unusual punishment.

If you need a refresher, this is what Boone unleashed in 2022 as the Yankees giant AL East lead dwindled by the day in the 2nd half of the season.

Neil Keefe found the exact dates Boone has used this infuriating phrase to try and inspire the fellas.

Imagine continuously fucking up at your workplace and using Boone's excuses to get out of it?

Boss: Seven years in a row your numbers are not where they need to be. There's really not much here to show positive growth.

You: We need to be better, but it's right in front of us. We're about to turn a corner.

Guess what? After seven years you would be out of a job. Not Boone, he gets contract extensions.

And if you're wondering if this Yankees slide feels all familiar? That's because it is!

When you're throwing out different rosters and the same thing is happening, hey maybe the manager has reason to be blamed.

And let me be very clear, Boone is not THE singular problem with the team. Brian Cashman's roster construction is abysmal and has them set up for failure. I've said that a bunch on here. But Boone is absolutely part of the problem. He does not make one player on that team better. He is consistently out-managed when it comes to facing Cora or any other good manager out there. It's not even close either.

Speaking of roster construction, they have no chance when you're rolling out these players in the middle of the lineup playing like this.

Volpe over the last month+ has been abysmal. Everything is either a weak grounder or a lazy fly out. His power has vanished. DJ LeMahieu is a corpse who is painful to watch run. Gleyber has been a disaster in his contract year. Verdugo has fallen off a cliff since his hot start. When all four of those guys are sliding you don't have a chance. Why pitch to Judge or Soto when you have those guys to worry about after? There's no fear.

Speaking of pitching to guys, Aaron Boone refuses to entertain walking Rafael Devers, a guy who will not stop hitting home runs against the Yankees. He hit two last night, and another one on Saturday vs. Cole.

Here were Boone's thoughts after the game.

Doesn't even entertain the idea of intentionally walking the guy who has hit 28 career homers against you in 108 career games. 16 of those have come at Yankee Stadium. Boone says to keep on pitching to him, even if 1st base is there to give him in a tight game. Mind-boggling logic. Did you see where this pitch was? A foot into the other batter's box and he pulls it 420 feet. Maniac shit.

There's no being careful to Rafael Devers. He hits everything. He's shown that through many examples. It's right in front of Boone though, that much is for sure true.

They're not going to fire Boone, and there's no telling that would even change much, but at least it would send a message throughout that clubhouse that this shit is unacceptable. Hold someone accountable one time, I'm begging you.

Get me to the All Star Break, I'm mentally exhausted.

P.S. Boone said DJ was hustling on this play. Even reviewed the footage and doubled down the next day. No accountability. They think we're all stupid.
