Trevor Bauer Set A Mexican League Record With 19 Strikeouts This Weekend And People Are Debating If He'll Ever Get Another Shot In The MLB

Well that is intriguing. It's one thing for a player to be blackballed by the entire league because of his sketchy past, but it's another for that player to be out here breaking league records by fanning 19 dudes in 8 2/3 innings of 1 run baseball. Look I get that any team that would give him another chance would be met with more scrutiny than they could imagine, and I'm sure the risk will outweigh the reward in the final decision, but there's an argument to be made that plenty of other sports leagues have proven time and time again that we don't employ these dudes' services for their upstanding character. We employ their services because they give our teams the best chance to win. And there's a team that once housed Trevor Bauer that could really use a little more Starting Pitching to make them legit World Series contenders.

It's the only team that could actually make this move, right? The Guardians are 49-26 and despite the best start for the franchise that I can ever recall, we still lack enough quality starting pitching. Shane Bieber is obviously out for the year, and Tristan McKenzie is becoming less reliable by the start. I want Cleveland to go out and get an ACE to put in front of Bibee and Logan Allen, but at worst we need to get someone to bump Carlos fucking Carrasco out of the rotation. I can't believe we're 49-26 with him pitching every 5 days. Trevor Bauer might be able to fill a much needed hole.....

Now it must be noted that Bauer striking out 19 plumbers and construction workers doesn't mean he'd do the same in Major League Baseball. I'm sure lots of people are hitting .725 on their local Beer League Softball team and we're not calling for them to get a shot in the big leagues. But the fact remains that Trevor Bauer was once a Cy Young Award winning pitcher, he's still throwing well, and there's a few teams that could desperately use another arm.

Then again, he did give up a few hits to Marty earlier this year too....
