Ohio State Might Be In Shambles: Their Head Baseball Coach Is Leaving To Go Be An Assistant At TCU
AND HIS PLAYERS FOUND OUT ON TWITTER!!! What a scumbag! But also, what an idiot.....? I had to double check and see if this was The Onion, or is this the reality we live in today? Leaving THE Ohio State University to go be an Assistant at a Christian school? I want to berate him, but I'm also nervous this is indicative of what the Buckeyes have become to the outside world.
And I'm not going to overreact here because at the end of the day, we're just talking about College Baseball. But then again, it's not like we're talking about Fencing. Aside from Football, Football, Football, and College Basketball, Baseball is next up. So the fact that Ohio State is at a point as a University where our Head Coaches choose to step down and go take Assistant Coach jobs is flat out embarrassing. I thought that was the route Head Coaches at OTHER schools took to get here!
Look, I'm sure you motherfuckers from the other 49 states are like, here we go....another Ohio State blog, no one cares. One, don't fucking click it then! But two, I'll admit I'm truly in the midst of a mid-life crisis. For literally my entire time on this planet, I've walked tall in this country. Put my chest out in airports. Wore my Ohio State hat and raised my Block O flag at the beach, laughing at the other peasant schools I'd see do the same. But fast forward to the last 3 years, and I must say, there's nothing that hurts more than crossing paths with a Michigan fan. I won't even say how it makes me feel, because I don't want it screenshot.
But the point remains: we can't beat our rival in football, and our baseball coach is going to.....TCU? To be an ASSISTANT COACH? And I get it. He was an Assistant there for a long time before coming to Ohio State, and that is probably home for him. Plus baseball in the South is substantially more competitive and important than the North. But still, what the fuck? We're losing head coaches in the Big 10 to be assistants in the Big 12? We're losing head coaches at Ohio State to be assistant coaches at Texas Christian University? It's a slippery slope we're heading down in Columbus. One more loss to Michigan this year, and we may need to scrap the entire University.
Now let's be clear, we're not losing Augie Garrido here. Bill Mosiello was 60-51 overall since taking over in Columbus, and while he did take over a terrible program and win a few games, it's not like he won those championships he said he was going to win in his introductory press conference. Turns out he was all talk, which is also echoed by plenty of Ohio State baseball guys with this news....
Maybe we're better off without a guy like this. But then again, this puts our program back once again. I'm sure dudes will now be entering the portal, and in the midst of recruiting, we don't even have a coach. Not good at all….
