So It Turns Out Scottie Scheffler Is Just That Guy In The Friend Group Who Is Annoyingly Awesome At Everything
Growing up with Scottie Scheffler being one of your best friends certainly has to have its perks. He probably picks up every bar tab, you get to go to a bunch of sick courses, I'm sure none of his friends have to ever pay for a new set of clubs again.
But at the same time, it has to be annoying as shit. Because even though you know you'll never be able to beat your best pal Scottie on the golf course, you figure that he spends so much time out there that you could find something to get better at than he is. At least one little activity where Scottie doesn't dominate every single time.
Hoops? No.
Pickleball? No.
Scottie doesn't strike me as much of a gamer, but I'm sure he'll beat some ass in Madden and 2K if you put a controller in his hands. Probably runs the beer pong table. Might have never lost a game of foosball in his life. Even something as simple as skipping rocks. Scottie Scheffler is the guy in the friend group who is annoyingly great at everything.
You love him to death because he's your friend, but you also hate the bastard because of it. Because you know you're stuck with it for the rest of your life. You can't join a new friend group at this point. You have your gravy train and you ride it for the rest of your days. But boy if it wouldn't be nice to grab a group of nerds to be buddies with and beat the brakes off those dorks in every athletic activity. To be the one they all know is going to show up to the function and somehow be the best at everything. You might not have a millionaire #1 golfer in the world best friend anymore, but at least you're not collecting L's for the rest of your life. Worth the trade off? Maybe not. But it'll at least get you to think.
